Welcome to the 44th Annual Minnesota Ironman® Bicycle Ride
Minnesota’s Season Opener cycling event has been running strong since 1967. We are one of the largest and longest running bike rides in Minnesota. Typically we have around 5,000 cyclists join us. If you are Ironman alumni – welcome back! It’s going to be another great year. If you are new to the Ironman – welcome to the club. Make 2010 the year you join us!

Mail-in Registration Now Open
You can pre-register to ride the MIBR by mailing your registration to us. See our 2010 Ride Guide for a registration form. The Ride Guide should arrive in your mailbox if you have ridden the MIBR before – or pick one up at a local bike shop if you haven’t. You can also download a Registration Form or a complete Ride Guide below. One form per rider, please. You can photocopy the form if necessary.

Team Registration Now Open
Team registration is only available through mail-in registration only. All rider forms need to be included in the same envelope. Teams are defined as any group of 10 or more riders wishing to register as a group. Use the following checklist to develop your team:
- Start by choosing someone to be the Team Captain.
- Team Captain will verify each registration form. We will need contact information and signed waiver from each individual in the group. Important : We need an individual e-mail address for each rider. Please print carefully.
- Team Captain will verify payment from individual riders. (This also allows each rider to order MIBR merchandise of their choosing.)
- Team Captain will mail all registration forms and individual payments in one envelope to the MIBR office by March 29, 2010. Please note the early registration deadline. Start your recruitment early!
- Team Captain should call the office as questions arise: 651-251-1495
Youth Registration Now Open
We offer a reduced rate for Youth riders (age 17 and under) to participate in the Ironman Bike Ride. Youth should plan to ride with a parent or guardian. Cost per child is $15. Youth that ride with a Trail-a-Bike or on a tandem need to register as a youth rider. Children riding in Burleys or Buggers ride for free and need not be registered.
We welcome youth riders but encourage parents to plan ahead to make sure they have a great riding experience. Consider the weather, advance training, and providing a bike in good operating condition. We’re building life-long cyclists!
Online Registration Through Active.com Now Open
Our online registration provider is Active.com. They charge you, the Minnesota Ironman cyclist, for this service – just like Ticketmaster or any other online event sales outlet. Active does a good job, and that’s why we use them. It’s convenient for everyone, and they do a great job of data management so we don’t have to. However, since our cyclists bear the burden of a few dollars for registering online, we try to offset it by offering a merchandise discount to our online registrants. Ironman t-shirts are discounted $3; Ironman jerseys are discounted $5 through online registration only.

NOTE: To receive a Confirmation Newsletter and a Rider Number in 2010, each individual rider must register a separate, individual email. Don’t have an email? Get one at yahoo, gmail, or hotmail. Confirmation emails will be sent out once registration is closed in mid April.
If you do not register an email, you can look up your rider number on the day of the ride. It takes only a minute.
NOTE: Active.com charges a service fee of 6.75% + $1.25 (or a $3.25 minimum) on your entire order for online registration. We do not receive this fee, this is a service charge by Active.com. Please see below for more information on Active.com user fees.
Active Fees
Active charges 6.75% of your TOTAL purchase plus $1.25, or a total minimum of $3.25. See the examples below of Active charges for a few different registrations.
Example 1: January Early-Bird online registration: $25 registration fee plus $3.25 minimum charge from Active
Example 2: January Early-Bird online registration plus short sleeve t-shirt: $25 registration fee plus $9 t-shirt plus $3.55 charge from Active
Example 3: February 1–April 9 online registration: $30 registration fee plus $3.28 charge from Active
We offer two pre-ride registration options: online (convenience) and mail-in ($.44 stamp but no extra fees). The choice is yours. Either way, thank you for riding with us.
Refund Policy
Sorry – we do not offer refunds on registration. You may however transfer your registration to another rider. Simply print your MIBR Rider Confirmation Newsletter and sign your name and write the new riders name. We will make the change in registration on ride morning.
MIBR Rider Confirmation Newsletter 2010
The MIBR Confirmation Newsletter contains your rider number, a review of your purchased merchandise and valuable day-of-ride information such as directions, parking, and other details. This is an electronic newsletter which will be emailed to all registered riders on Friday, April 16, 2010.
Please provide us with a separate, individual e-mail address for each rider if you wish to receive the 2010 Confirmation Newsletter. Duplicate e-addresses will not be delivered. Illegible addresses will not be delivered. Please bring your rider number along with you on Sunday April 25th, as it will speed up your Rider Check-in on ride morning.
If you do not have an email, or you do not wish to use your email, you can look up your rider number on ride morning at Lakeville North High School. It’s fast and simple – don’t sweat it.
