2010 Ride Review

Thank you for riding with us on the 44th annual Minnesota Ironman! We were honored to have 3800 riders pre-register to ride and another 800 sign-up on Sunday. Even with no-shows we had well over 4,000 riders on the road.
ROUTES IN REVIEW
It will take us some time to determine the route splits but I’m sure we had nearly 800 riders attempt the 100 mile route and enjoy a challenging day of cycling. We unfortunately had sign vandalism on the 65 mile route and are very sorry that many early riders missed a key turn near New Prague. We replaced the signs ASAP – but many riders had to find a creative route back to Lakeville after getting lost. The 30 mile route again attracted many young riders and families and gave a sense of accomplishment to those new to cycling events. Check the web site early next week for final numbers on the route totals.

MIBR 2011 • LAKEVILLE MN
Next year (due to the Easter Holiday) the Minnesota Ironman will be held on Sunday, May 1st 2011.We see many ways to improve the ride next year and will focus on better sag support and redundant sign checking. We remain hopeful that Ironman 2011 will be warm and sunny, with a slight tailwind, but some things remain out of our control. We strive to make up for it with excellent organization, friendly service from our volunteers, and routes that are challenging and rewarding.
THANK YOU RIDERS AND VOLUNTEERS
Thank you for joining us this past Sunday. In spite of wet weather and tough winds we hope you had an excellent ride. A special shout-out as well to all of our excellent volunteers (some 250 strong!) who also braved the weather and the long hours and helped us in our ride. Thank you all for taking a day to make great cycling in Minnesota.
